The Virginia City Foundation
Preserving and Illuminating the Heritage of the Comstock
The Virginia City Foundation invites individuals and organizations (public and private) with a concern for the preservation of the historic infrastructure and heritage of Virginia City and the Comstock to join us in our efforts.
There are a number of ways in which you or your organization can support our work:
Sustaining Members: These individuals make donations in support of the efforts of the Foundation. For an annual contribution of $25, you receive a quarterly newsletter updating you on the activities and achievements of the Foundation and are eligible for member rates at all VCF events and activities, a savings of 10% over the public price.
Sustaining Organizations: Your private or public organization can joins us in preserving the heritage of the Comstock, for an annual donation of $250 or more. All of your employees or members receive the quarterly newsletter and are eligible for the 10% member discount on Foundation sponsored activities and events. The savings on a single event can more than pay for your annual donation.
Contributing Members: These individuals are part of the Foundation’s Preservation Team, doing the work to advance the cause of preservation in the Comstock. As a contributing member, you become part of the regular meetings and projects of the Foundation, have a voice in the Foundation’s direction and activities and receive a 15% discount on all Foundation sponsored events and activities. Contributing members donate $100 or more to the Foundation annually.
Preservation Partners: These individuals and organizations support the Foundation’s work through contributions of property, historic collections or other artifacts of Virginia City and the Comstock. Preservation Partners attend the annual Comstock Heritage Council meeting and are entitled to 20% discounts on all Foundation activities and events, as well as attendance at special Preservation Partner-only events.
Founders: These individuals and organizations contribute property, historic collections or other artifacts or assets valued at more than $50,000 to the Foundation. Founders attend the annual Founders meeting to discuss the direction and projects of the Foundation and provide advice to the Board of Directors and management of the Foundation. Preservation Partners may also be Founders, based on their contributions to the Foundation. Founders also attend the special Preservation Partner-only events and receive the 25% discount on Foundation activities.
